Not Pheasance
Llamas are an important and exciting presence in my life as well.
I was a little puzzled when I first discovered Llama as a power animal of mine (see About Page for the story). I considered them little more than cute pack animals and petting zoo attractions.
As with pheasants, I began reading about llamas and realized they, too, were far more powerful than I had realized. Llamas can kick and spit, and because of an instinctive aversion to canids, have proven effective guard animals for sheep. Yup, even wolves won't mess with a llama.
White llamas are considered especially spiritual. While pheasants tend to represent my flamboyance, llamas reflect my serenity. I consider Llama a great source of wisdom, peace, and compassion. They are also darn cute.

White llamas are definitely my favorites.

Since discovering Llama as a power animal, I've had the good fortune to have a number of real-life encounters with llamas and their close cousins alpacas. I've enjoyed one-on-one llama interactions at petting zoos and county fairs and even got a personal tour of an alpaca farm.
Llamas are friendly, pettable, and great to be around. Someday, when I have the time and acreage to devote to it, I hope to be a llama mama.
